Maryland Hot & Cheesy Crab Dip

A favorite dip in many bars and restaurants in Maryland. This delicious hot crab dip can be served with fresh bread, crackers, pretzels, celery or on top of chicken!
The locals call this "Chicken Chesapeake" and serve in quesadillas.
Maryland Crab Dip Ingredients:
  • Lump Crab Meat
  • Cream Cheese (softened)
  • Mayonnaise
  • Sour Cream
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Ground Mustard
  • Lemon Juice
  • Old Bay Seasoning
  • Worcestershire Sauce
Beat cream cheese to a creamy, smooth texture...Add mayonnaise, sour cream, cheddar cheese, mustard, lemon juice, Old Bay Seasoning and Worchester Sauce to beaten cream cheese and mix till combined.
Finally: Add lump crab to mix by folding gently to avoid breaking up the meat.



Place in casserole dish and bake 375 degrees until browned along edges (about 25-30 minutes).
May be slow-cooked until heated thoroughly in crock pot. (3-4 hrs.)

Crab Dip Shopping List
  • 1 pound lump crab meat
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 12 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon (may use bottled lemon juice 1 tsp.)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
